Shoes, cart, doll cradle; Doll is perhaps dead underneath. Is this set up to hide the mess inside said cradle? Have I mistaken the part a fluffy white cat played… is it a real cat? The shoes belong to a woman; is she sharing the room or has she kept her childhood toys in case she has a child of her own one day… before becoming half of a deep relationship? If I had a doll cradle I might stuff it with shoes. I wouldn’t keep the little cart or the dolls… but now it comes to my notice that there may be a real baby on top of the pile. It’s too young to get there by itself. If it’s a doll it’s a bloody great imitation. So, could this be a Tracey Emin-style set-up? What mother would leave a month-old baby in that precarious position? Nothing sweet here, not even the pink; the pink has been assaulted by juxtaposition. I’d need a magnifying glass to detect & note all here before calculating reasoning behind the mess as in why take such a photo? What would the intention be to realise what, to whom? It’s all suspect… is there a body on the other side of the room? Is this just a quarter (top left) of the whole picture? Or is it a death with no blood splatter?
